First introduced in 1980 by Tomiyama Seisakusho Co.,Ltd. Art Panorama 170 is 6x17cm format model released two years after 6x24cm format Art Panorama 240 introduced in 1978. It is easy to handle, for the body structure is simple. |
The frame counting window on the camera back is used to see the frame number on the leader paper. Here, the film has to be winded three frames for one exposure due to the length of the picture. ex. After the first exposure is taken, the film has to be winded till "3" comes in the frame counting window, then after that, "6", "9", and "12".

The rear cover is fixed with pins at both sides of the camera body and has to be detached when the film is loaded. |
Focusing is made by bellows extension and visual distance estimation with the focusing knob with distance scale (1.5m - inf.). Howevevr, built-in focusing screen makes it possible to take a picture as close as 50cm. (Note : A state of focus can not be seen after the film is loaded.) |
